We are pleased to partner with the International Women’s Hackathon, the Grace Hopper conference in Phoenix and the Anita Borg Institute to bring you our first Codess Hackathons (Codess London and Codess Silicon Valley). On Saturday, October 11th, teams around the World will be hosting hackathons where female engineers at all levels can collaborate intensively on software projects for great causes. And we welcome all levels of experience – we provide a fun and safe environment for you to experiment with technology. These individual worldwide hackathons help inspire women to learn, invent, and create the future.
Last year, the International Hackathon had over 50 events in 11 countries with more than 2,000 women hacking computing solutions to help teens stop distracted driving and empower women’s economic development through STEM education.
A few weeks before the event, we will share the challenges based on social good and you are able to join teams, plan, storyboard, and determine what you want to do and how you will go about building the solution. The only caveat is that no actual programming is allowed until the day of the event. Teams will judge winners locally and the application and pitch video of the winner of each challenge will be published on the Microsoft Research website after the event. Gifts will be provided to the winners.
Become a producer of future innovations in technology and join the Codess Hackathon today!
